This quick guide will help you to get set up and make the most of Start at your school or college.
STEP #1 – Create your own login
Get started by registering yourself as a teacher or careers guidance professional at your school or college. It only takes a few minutes and you can follow these simple instructions to keep you on track.
STEP #2 – Validate your account
Once registered, you’ll receive a couple of emails from us, one of which will include a link to Validate your account. Click the link to notify our team and they’ll validate you so that you have access to everything you need to use and manage Start.

TIP #1 – Make yourself at home
As a registered teacher or careers guidance professional, Teacher View is your homepage on Start. Take some time to familiarise with the Useful Documents available such as the presentation which you can use to introduce fellow teachers to Start and to let SLT know how it will help to meet the Gatsby benchmarks for good career guidance.
TIP #2 – Start getting students registered
There’s a guide on Teacher View for how to get students registered using the code you’ll receive when your account is validated. But the easiest way to get your whole school or college registered is to let us do all the work by automatically generating logins for every student. TIP #3 – Plan how you want to use Start
From Teacher View, you can access ‘Activities & Resources’ for using Start with different year groups. Each of the activities is available on Start for students to complete and you can also download supporting lesson plans.
